The Secretary General of Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, Dr Lateef Adegbite and Ambassador Segun Olusola have urged Nigerians to keep the vision of a united Nigeria which the late Chief Anthony Enahoro and others laid nursed.
They said this at the inauguration of a legacy commission for the late nationalist. Dr Adegbite described Enahoro as a highly successful man, who died without actualising his vision of a better Nigeria.
He, however, charged Nigerians not to kill the vision, rather they should continually work for its realisation.
Ambassador Olusola described him as a clever and innovative Nigerian, who worked assiduously for the growth of his country and it was due to the role he played with some other enterprising Nigerians that the first television station in Nigeria was established.
Speaking in the same vein, Chief John Nwodo described him as a man with proven integrity and a true mentor that was worthy of emulation.
Eulogising Chief Enahoro, Comrade Olukayode Ezekiel, president of Fasholamania group; a group working for the re- election of Lagos State governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola, charged Nigerians to emulate the icon and also celebrate leaders with exemplary values like Pa Enahoro rather than celebrating leaders with questionable characters.
The event which was part of the programmes lined up to honour the late hero prior to his burial, which comes up on Friday in Benin, Edo State, was attended by eminent personalities, Dr Kalu Idika Kalu and members of the Pro-National Conference organisation (PRONACO).
